Apple cider vinegar in poultry
Abstract
Apple Cider Vinegar is made by fermentation of liquid obtained by crushing and squeezing apples which controls bacteria, algae, improves digestion and metabolism in poultry birds. Yeast and bacteria are used to start the alcoholic fermentation process. In Unani medicine it is prescribed as an expectorant , coagulant, digestive and as an ointment. It also contains anticoccidial effects, boosts immunity against viral diseases, kills bacteria and reduce stress levels.

An overview of Avian flu
Abstract
Avian flu is highly transmissible disease which causes severe health problems.1st case in humans is reported in Hong Kong. Influenza virus A (H5N1) possess great zoonotic potential.Type A influenza can be divided into 2 categories low pathogenic and high pathogenic viruses.Type B influenza virus is generally found only in the humans while type C cause mild ailment in humans. It mainly affects the respiratory system results in throat pain, shortness of breath, pneumonia, cough and respiratory failure. Direct contact with the infected or dead birds leads to infection.

Lameness: Its Role in the Productivity of Farm Animals and Its Management
Abstract
Ruminants are the source of income for resource-poor people in developing countries. Lameness affects the production of farm animals including decreased milk and meat production, delayed estrus and conception, and other indirect problems. It is characterized by abnormal gait or posture of animals and pain. Therefore, the timely diagnosis and management of this disease are crucial to ensure the maximum production of animals. Mostly the foot of the hind limb is affected by this issue. Laminitis, abscess of the white line, metabolic acidosis, or double sole could lead to lameness. The visual gait scoring and examination of the foot are necessary to approach the clinical diagnosis of the disease. The purpose of this article is to highlight the problem of lameness that decreases the productivity of dairy animals, the anatomical structures of the bovine hoof, its pathology, and managemental practices.
