Abstract :
The rapid global population growth and increasing malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies pose significant challenges to food security and health. CRISPR technology has been utilized to enhance the nutritional quality of crops, particularly in the biofortification of vital crops. However, challenges like off-target effects, regulatory uncertainty, and consumer acceptance need to be addressed. Future prospects involve integrating CRISPR technologies, speed breeding, and genomic selection to improve global nutritional security.
