Abstract :
Trypanosoma (T.) cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas disease, poses a significant threat to both human and animal health, particularly in regions where the vector (triatomine bugs) are present. Buffaloes are susceptible to T. cruzi infection, and their role as reservoir hosts for the parasite raises concerns about transmission to humans and other animals. This article aims to explore various control strategies to combat T. cruzi infection in buffaloes. It provides information about to preventing transmission, diagnosing infected animals, and enhancing treatment modalities, ultimately helping in the overall control of this neglected tropical disease.
